The slogan, “Going Green”, is seen many times each day in all our areas of media and certainly one that warrants our attention if we are to have a good future for this planet.  Having said this, our emission problems are certainly of enormous proportion in causing permanent damage to the environment and this is receiving the attention that is deserves.  So if we must use our vehicles to go to work and maintain households, there must be more innovative actions that we can take to be better stewards of our planet…the HHO car!  Fewer carbon emissions and better gas mileage are just two of many facets that make this ideal in solving many of our issues today where the environment and our economy are concerned.

It may seem staggering to think about having your vehicle professionally outfitted with one of these kits to the tune of over $1,500 but suppose that this could be installed by you with only the cost of about $100 and an investment of approximately an hour of your time.  There are numerous HHO car kits available and unless the price of water goes sky-high like gasoline has in recent years, you could begin to reap the benefit of saving a lot on fuel immediately.

The principle is quite simple for those who have even a limited knowledge of chemistry.  The HHO car uses water that is energized by the process of electrolysis which in common terms means electrical current introduced into water resulting in the separation of the oxygen and hydrogen. The electricity is provided by the alternator via the charge from the battery of your vehicle.  The end product of this process becomes HHO or “brown gas” in lay terminology.  The newly created gas travels through to the engine where further enhancement with the air filter transpires.  This extra boost will produce more power than you can get from gasoline alone and is cleaner burning which lessens the carbon footprint that we hear so much about.  Hydrogen alone cannot provide the same amount of assistance as HHO which contains the addition of oxygen which provides more power.  Testimonials tout the increase in gas mileage of near to 50% even in older model vehicles.

Therefore, in conclusion, we know of the power that can be found in water with the proper directions…the TVA project and Hoover Dam!  It only seems logical that this same product will provide us with power when properly implemented in our vehicles.

HHO technology has been one of the most controversial debated topics and if it is even possible or does the system even work. There are many skeptics out there claiming this technology simply cannot work, this is despite the fact that hho generators are running on hundreds of thousands of vehicles today.

Then there is the enthusiast who could really care less if hho technology works or doesn’t work. They just want what it is said the technology delivers for fuel savings. This ranges from a large group of people. Who either want to install a HHO kit, or have the fuel kit installed by a mechanic. These are also the ones who have the know how to maintain the fuel kit.

While there is still another class of debaters on HHO technology. This is the group of people who want to know how and why this technology works. This group also wants to use one of these fuel kits on their vehicles. All three of these groups have their own explanations as to how HHO generators work in vehicles to save consumers money at the pump.

What the first explanation comes down to is HHO gas helps both gas and diesel burn cleaner inside the combustion chamber of the engine. This is because hydrogen ignites sooner at a much lower temperature’s then current fossil fuels. Also note just because it ignites at a lower temperature doesn’t mean it burns at a lower temperature. HHO gas actually burns around 10% hotter then regular gas or diesel. Because of this it helps to lower emissions and increase horse power slightly in the process of adding this with current fuels.

While the enthusiast claim HHO technology works because our current automobiles only use about 30% of its fuel in the internal combustion engines. HHO gas helps to increase this efficiency by as much as 60-80%.

Yet there is still another explanation as to how and why HHO technology works in our current fossil fuel burning vehicles. These advocates believe HHO gas displaces some of the gas or diesel fuel in the cylinders. There for both HHO gas and regular gas or diesel are the fuels injected into the cylinder at the same time.

From what was learned in grade school science classes. Is that two objects cannot occupy the same place at the same time. There for some gas is displaced with the HHO gas. There for this would be displacement of gas which helps give it a increase in gas mileage and better fuel economy. Helping to reduce emissions at the same time.

However for many HHO technology works is academic. All that is known is that by installing a HHO device on a vehicle it comes with many great benefits. These benefits include getting better gas mileage, making the car run smoother, a slight horsepower increase, lower emissions of greenhouse gases put out by the vehicles and as of recently our governments are handing out a $2000 tax credit to anyone who installs one of these devices on their vehicle.
